Everything You'd AskBefore You Come

What is The Mat?
The Mat is a members-only indoor golf club in Gainesville, Georgia. Instead of a row of crowded stalls, it's one private, pro-grade golf simulator bay inside a real lounge — book it by the block or access it anytime as a member. Play a full round, dial in your swing, or just hang out, year-round and any time of day.
When does The Mat open?
We're targeting Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia. That's the plan, not a promise — we'll confirm the exact opening day as we get closer. Founding memberships and the league interest list are open now, before the doors open.
Where is The Mat located?
We're in Gainesville, serving Hall County and the greater North Georgia area. The exact address goes public with our opening — reserve your founding spot to be the first to know when and where the doors open.
Are you really open 24/7? What are the hours?
Members are 24/7 — unlock the door with the app and QR access, so the room is available around the clock, from 5am before work to late nights after the kids are down. Non-members can play from 10 AM to 7 PM. Either way there's no waiting on daylight or tee-time availability.
Is there a putting green?
Yes — a real putting green on site, which is the thing that sets The Mat apart. Simulators are great for the full swing but weak at putting, so we built an actual green to roll real putts on. Full swing on the screen, real putts on the green — that's how you practice the part of golf that decides most scores, and it's rare to find at an indoor sim.
What courses can I play?
More than 2,500 courses, and the list keeps growing — along with a driving range, practice modes, and games. Play a bucket-list course on a Tuesday night without leaving Gainesville.
How do I get in touch?
Call us at (770) 618-9393, or use any of the forms on this site. Those are the two ways to reach us — there's no public inquiry email, so don't trust one you find somewhere else.
Playing At The Mat
What is it like to play here?
You play a full round indoors on real courses, on one big screen in a private room. No weather, no daylight to beat, no waiting on a tee time. Serious about your game or swinging a club for the first time, it works either way.
How many bays do you have?
One. The Mat is a single private bay, and that's on purpose — when it's your time the whole room is yours, one group at a time, with nobody waiting behind you. It's the opposite of a busy multi-bay arcade.
Can beginners and kids play? Is it good for all skill levels?
Absolutely — all ages and skill levels are welcome. A simulator is the easiest, lowest-pressure way to learn: no lost balls, instant feedback, and fun games like closest-to-the-pin and long-drive that level the field for beginners and kids alike.
How many people can play at once?
When you book The Mat, the whole room is yours. Bring your foursome or a small group, share one big screen with lounge seating, and take turns — it's built to be played together. For larger parties, ask about private events.
Pricing & Memberships
How much does it cost to play indoor golf?
A day pass is $60 per hour for the whole room — no membership required. Memberships run $100/mo (Par, Mon–Fri) to $280/mo (Ace, 24/7 with guest passes), and annual plans that include free months — one free month on Par, Birdie and Eagle, two on Ace. There's no contract and no cancellation fee. Founding members lock 25% off every rate — limited to 20 spots — and active military save 20%.
Do you offer memberships, or can I just pay to play?
Both. The Day Pass books the room for a single visit with no membership — perfect for a date night or a one-off round. The Membership gives you 24/7 access and member pricing. And Corporate & Group packages put the whole room in your hands for teams, parties, leagues, and schools.
What are the membership tiers?
Four of them: Par at $100 a month, Birdie at $160, Eagle at $220, and Ace at $280. Annually they run $1,100, $1,760, $2,420 and $2,800, which builds free months into the price. Par is weekday access, Monday through Friday, with 1-hour tee times, $10 per guest and 5% off league and tournament dues. Birdie adds 24/7 access and 10% off dues. Eagle moves you up to 2-hour tee times, three free guest passes and $25 off dues. Ace is 3-hour tee times, four free guest passes and 50% off dues.
Is an annual membership cheaper than paying monthly?
Yes — every annual membership has free months built into the price. Par, Birdie and Eagle each include one month free, and Ace includes two. Same access, same perks, less money.
Is there a military discount?
Yes — active military save 20% off all rates. It applies to the day pass and to every membership tier.
Is there a contract? Can I cancel?
There's no contract — memberships are month to month. No initiation fee, no cancellation fee, and you can stop whenever you want.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes — gift cards are available. Call (770) 618-9393 if you'd like one.
The Founding Offer
What does founding membership cost, and what's the catch?
Founding members get 25% off every membership rate, honored from opening day. Reserving now is free and holds your place. There's no catch: it's limited to 20 people, and once those spots are gone the founding rate won't come back. How long the founding rate runs has not been announced yet.
How do I reserve a founding spot?
Put your email in on this site — that's the whole process. It's free, there's no card and nothing to pay today, and it holds one of the 20 places.
Food, Drink & Groups
Is there food and drinks? Can I bring my own?
The Mat is BYOB and bring-your-own-food — bring whatever you and your group like. There's no bar, no food menu, and no catering on site, so you're never marked up and you set the vibe. It's a real lounge with a couch, screens, and good lighting: play, then stay a while with your own food and drinks.
Is there a bar or a kitchen?
No — no bar, no kitchen, no menu and no liquor license, and none of that is planned. The Mat is BYOB and bring-your-own-food, so what you bring is what you have.
Is there a corkage fee, a catering minimum, or an approved vendor list?
No to all three. Bring your own food and drink from wherever you want — there's no corkage fee, no catering minimum, no vendor list, and nothing marked up.
Can I book The Mat for a party, corporate event, or date night?
Yes — it's one of the best things about the room. Book it for birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate team building, golf leagues, fundraisers, or school groups, and the whole space is yours. See the Corporate & Private Events page to plan a private group event.
What does it cost to book the whole room for a private event?
$200 an hour, with a three-hour minimum, for groups of up to 30 people. The entire space is private to your group — the bay, the lounge and the putting green — and BYOB and bring-your-own-food work the same way they do any other night. Non-member events run inside the 10 AM to 7 PM window.
Leagues & Tournaments
Are there leagues?
Yes — leagues are forming now, and the first season starts when the doors open in October 2026. A league is a weekly night, the same players, a set season, and standings that build as you go. The weekly night and the dues aren't set yet, so joining the interest list now genuinely shapes them.
Do members save on league dues?
Yes, and the higher your tier the more you save. Par is 5% off dues, Birdie is 10% off, Eagle is $25 off, and Ace is 50% off.
